Throughout her tenure as a teacher in the Adirondack-North Country region of New York, Jen worked alongside colleagues to host cross-disciplinary place-based projects that bridged school curriculum with museums, state and national parks, science centers, historical societies, and other community-based organizations. With a passion for exposing K12 students to people, places, ideas, and innovations well beyond the walls of a classroom and covers of a textbook, Jen designed and hosted monthly live virtual f ield trips for students to connect them to learning opportunities far and wide. Now, as the founder and lead education consultant of Marker Box Education Consulting, Jen supports public and private education organizations with professional development and staff training, curriculum writing and design, and program development and alignment.

Julia Herman is the Collections Manager at the Lake Placid Olympic Museum (LPOM). Julia joined the LPOM in 2019 as a collections intern before graduating from Western Michigan University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public History. Her passion for sports history and the “Miracle on Ice” led her to pursue the role of the LPOM Collections Manager in the fall of 2021. Throughout the next year and a half, Julia oversaw the design and opening of the newly renovated Lake Placid Olympic Museum. In 2023, she completed a Master of Arts in Museum Studies at Johns Hopkins University. Julia is passionate about collections, curatorial projects, and creating educational programs that blend sport with culture and education.
