    About the Institution: The Cayuga Museum of History and Art, which includes the Case Research Laboratory Historic Site and Carriage House Theater, is a multi-disciplinary Museum Campus that has been open to the public in Auburn, NY since 1936.

    Job Description: We are seeking a collections intern to edit, update, and expand the PastPerfect catalog records of the museum’s painting collection.  This position is funded by the Osborne Memorial Association Fund.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Proofread, edit, and standardize existing PastPerfect catalog records
    • Perform additional research about individual artists and add to PastPerfect records
    • Photograph objects as needed

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Interest in museum research and collections management
    • Ability to work independently and in a team

    Requirements:
    • Student enrolled in a graduate program in Museum Studies, Art History, or related field.
    • Requires moderate physical activity. Climbing stairs necessary to access collections storage. Occasional lifting of supplies and materials less than 40 pounds.
    • Available 15-20 hours per week for a total of 100  hours. The schedule may be flexible within our weekday hours of 9-5pm. A portion of the internship can be remote.
