    Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House is a non-profit organization with a primary mission to preserve, interpret, and promote the Martin House. It is Frank Lloyd Wright's quintessential Prairie house and one of the great achievements of his career.

    Job Description:

    The Martin House seeks a part-time Volunteer Programs Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This position assists the organization in engaging a broad cross-section of our local community by overseeing and strengthening our volunteer program. The Martin House’s robust volunteer program features over 350 exceptional volunteers; the volunteer program provides vital support to the organization’s mission across departments.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Recruits, develops, maintains, nurtures, and leverages all active volunteers at the Martin House, including tour docents, house captains, landscape volunteers, Collections Care Committee volunteers, and education volunteers, among others.
    • Supports and guides volunteer committees, subcommittees, and ad hoc volunteer initiatives, including professional development.
    • Serves as liaison to all staff who manage volunteers, including recruitment, training, evaluation, and addressing concerns.
    • Develops and implements Martin House special events for volunteers, including anniversary events, annual meeting in the spring, and annual celebration in the autumn.
    • Utilizes CERVIS, the Martin House’s online volunteer system, to leverage and maximize volunteer involvement in specific focus areas.
    • Becomes a certified Martin House docent and gives tours of the historic campus as needed.

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
    • Museum or tour industry experience preferred
    • Exceptional customer service skills with conflict resolution experience
    • Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, flexible, and able to work well in a team setting
    • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
    • Must be able to work some weekends and occasional evenings

    Position Type: Part-Time

    Salary Range: $22-$25/hour

    Salary Type: Non-Exempt
