My Profile

Museum Association Administrator
Museum Association of New York

Rachel Ruller stepped into the position of Museum Association Administrator at MANY in August of 2019, fresh off of her second season as an Historic Site Interpreter at Crailo State Historic Site in Rensselaer, NY. She attended SUNY Oswego, studying English and Museum Studies, and while there volunteered at the Richardson-Bates House Museum and interned at Fort Ontario State Historic Site, where she eventually became an interpreter. Her experience as a stage manager for local community theatre organizations has helped hone her organizational skills, and her experience as an historic site interpreter, writer, and part-time game curator at Bard & Baker Board Game Café in Troy have widened her professional portfolio outside of the museum world. As a passionate advocate for accessibility in museums, gender equality, and LGBTQIA+ representation in cultural institutions, Rachel is looking forward to supporting museums all across New York tell new and exciting stories about our shared history.

The Museum Association of New York strengthens the capacity of New York State’s cultural community by supporting professional standards and organizational development. We provide advocacy, training, and networking opportunities so that museums and museum professionals may better serve their missions and communities.
