In this session, two senior museum leaders who have experienced how partnerships strengthen museums, build strong community ties, and support the "bottom line," use case studies to discuss the why and how of museum community partnerships, including coping with inevitable 'potholes' on the road to partnership success. What are the opportunities, challenges, and imperatives for museum-community partnerships in the current environment, when our museums are dealing with the effects of the pandemic; the mandate to reckon with equity, inclusion, and social justice; and a reconsideration of business models? Ample time will be devoted to addressing attendees' specific partnership challenges.
