Caring for Our Collections, Caring for Our Visitors.

With Doreen Alessi-Holmes, Conservator, and staff from the Interpretation team: Cheryl Braunstein, Micaela Hall, and Stephanie Hample

How do you care for objects? For people? The Adirondack Experience is re-focusing on both! Attendees will get an in-depth look at our diverse collection—from boats to fine arts to taxidermy—and learn about the science that goes into object conservation. Participants will hear about our strategies to better engage visitors; ADKX is sensory-inclusive certified and is renovating facilities for guests with sensory processing disorders and their families. Working with consultants, we have revised staff training to most effectively deliver our interpretive content and to better meet the needs of diverse audiences, both efforts supported by grants from IMLS and the State of New York.
