Denise joined the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) in May 2017 and brought over 25 years of public and private experience, specializing in the not-for-profit sector for over 20 years. Her experience includes strategic planning, streamlining financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and endowment management. Before joining MAD, Denise was the Vice President of Finance and Administration for Island Harvest Food Bank where she supervised a team of four and oversaw the budget, audit, cash management, insurance, and all financial reporting for the institution. In addition, she was directly responsible for choosing and implementing their financial accounting software.

Prior to her tenure at Island Harvest, Denise was the Controller of the Long Island Children’s Museum for over 11 years where she managed all financial aspects for the Museum including preparation of the annual budget, audit and tax return, daily cash management, monthly internal financial statements, insurance, supervision of payroll and accounts payable.

Denise holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a concentration in Art History from SUNY Binghamton. She received her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials immediately after graduating.
