This workshop highlights how the Reframing History Toolkit, published by the American Association of State and Local History and Frameworks, can be used to reduce polarization and encourage critical engagement through dialogue. The Erie Canal Museum supported by the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor has altered the way it presents public history to be more responsive to the needs of its community, including both content and delivery. This workshop will take participants through the Erie Canal Museum's learning process with the toolkit, then feature an interactive workshop on how participants can implement effective communication strategies at their own sites.

This workshop will take place at the Erie Canal Museum.

Capacity limited to 25 people.

MANY Member $25; Non-Member $30. Advance registration required.
