Please read through the instructions and "Do's & Don't's" carefully before posting to the Member News Blog. All posts are subject to review and removal by MANY should they be deemed inappropriate. Please keep this in mind when writing and publishing your own material on the Member News Blog.
How to Post:
... Share updates from your institution that you're proud of, like new exhibitions, approved grant funding, etc.
... Post with the intention of teaching your fellow members something. This is a large community - take advantage of this opportunity to interact with each other!
... Comment on and share posts, but remember...if you don't have anything nice to say, you probably shouldn't say it at all.
... Ask MANY for help refining or editing your posts. Send us any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org.
... Report any abusive comments or inappropriate posts to MANY Staff at email@example.com.
... Post event announcements or forum topics (i.e. advice-seeking, deaccessioning announcements, etc.). Please post events on the Event Forum and miscellaneous discussion prompts on the Member Discussion Forum.
... Speak negatively about fellow museums and cultural institutions in your posts. Any posts deemed inappropriate by the MANY Staff will be removed immediately.
... Write abusive comments on posts. Ignorance, hate speech, and 'isms' (sexism, racism, ageism, etc.) will not be tolerated. Any inappropriate comments will be removed immediately.
... Share these posts with the intention of hurting your fellow museum professionals. This is a safe space for the sharing of ideas and the building of the unique community of New York State museums - please treat it as such!
