Noguchi Museum, Chocolate Factory Theater Get Millions In Funds

The Noguchi Museum was granted $3 million, while the Chocolate Factory Theater was allocated $2 million.

LONG ISLAND CITY, QUEENS — Two beloved cultural hubs in Long Island City received millions of dollars in funding on Tuesday, Borough President Donovan Richards announced.

The Noguchi Museum, located at 9-01 33rd Road, was granted $3 million to preserve the museum's studio and to build a new collections lab and study center.

The performance arts company Chocolate Factory Theater, stationed at 3833 24th Street, was allocated $2 million to reopen its manufacturing facility as a permanent home.

Richards said on Twitter that the funds will help the institutions "be able to grow and remain fixtures in LIC."
