Brian Howard is currently in his tenth year as Executive Director at the Oneida County History Center in Utica. He has spent most of the last 25 years as a museum professional in upstate New York. His early career included collections and development positions at the former National Warplane Museum and the National Soaring Museum in Elmira.
In 2002, he left the field to join his family's building supplies business; five years later he accepted the director's position at the Oneida County History Center. For seven years he also taught American history as an adjunct instructor at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica.
A graduate of SUNY Potsdam and the Texas Tech University Museum Science program, his background includes extensive writing and presenting on both United States and aviation history. He lives in Sherburne with his wife, Paula, and two teenage sons.
